Firth received the leading actor award for his role in 'The King's Speech,' at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. The Daily Star reports that the 50-year-old actor drank so much champagne at a post-BAFTA bash that he left his trophy at the bar and went home.
Firth reportedly sent someone to pick up the award later in the evening.
The actor and Oscar favorite told the Daily Star after his win (but before he started celebrating), "It feels amazing to win awards, but tomorrow I'll be back down to earth with a bang, on the school run and taking the bins out. I might as well make the most of it tonight."
Firth's co-star and winner for best supporting actress, Helena Bonham Carter, also reportedly celebrated with a number of cocktails with her partner, Tim Burton. Carter may have had one too many drinks as well, as she almost forgot to take her jacket when she was leaving.
Carter revealed how she and Firth spent their free time on the sets of the movie. "Me and Colin entertained each other on set, we are fart buddies," she said. "We mess around with our iPhone fart application."
