Slaughterhouse Are Working 'Slowly And Surely' On Album
'We're about seven or eight songs in,' Royce Da 5'9" tells MTV News.

Though Royce Da 5'9" is busy putting the finishing touches on his Bad Meets Evil EP with Eminem, the Detroit MC says that his upcoming group album with Slaughterhouse is still a priority.
"It's just something to set up Slaughterhouse anyway," Royce told MTV News about the Bad Meets Evil project. "That's our main focus right now, is Slaughterhouse and then we got Yelawolf. We're just trying to start a movement."
The group, which consists of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and, of course, Royce, first formed in 2008 after appearing on a Budden track together. In 2009, the rap quartet dropped their self-titled debut album independently on E1 (formerly Koch) then signed to Eminem's Shady Records in December 2010. Since the high-profile signing, fans of the group have been awaiting their second LP, Monster. Royce assures that Slaughterhouse is hard at work, although news broke this week that he and Eminem will be dropping a joint EP in June.
"Yeah, we're working on it slowly but surely, slowly and surely," he said of the Slaughterhouse. "They're coming here [to Detroit] for seven days starting on the 12th of May. We did the last album in six days, so sky's the limit on how much we gonna get recorded while they're here."
Royce also revealed that he and the crew already have a number of tracks recorded. "We're about seven or eight songs in. Just cutting randoms, just to see where we are at."
As of now, no release date has been set for Slaughterhouse's Monster.
Are you looking forward to the next Slaughterhouse album? Tell us in the comments!

Aw look, it?s the official wave of the newlywed Royal couple?
Royal waves are very important - or so we?re told.
They say a lot about a Royal, and indeed a Royal couple. So what did Wills and Kate?s joint newlywed wave say about them as they made their way to Buckingham palace in their Royal carriage (just in front of Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton?s carriage that is) following their (really boring) wedding ceremony yesterday.
Well, it definitely showed how much the two love each other as their waves were totally in sync and they almost seemed to mimic each other ? which in body language terms says great things about their relationship apparently (or so we heard some expert say on TV this morning).
So, in conclusion ? Wills and Kate have a lovely joint Royal wave.
By the way, can you believe that we just wrote a whole ?story? about a wave? Our job is f-ing ace.

'American Idol' Preview: How Will Scotty McCreery Do On Carole King Night?
King's lesser-known catalog presents a challenge for the top six.
By Eric Ditzian
Scotty McCreery performs on "American Idol" on Wednesday
Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Fox
So much for contemporary tuneage! A week after "American Idol" embraced songs from the 21st century, the show is headed back into the familiarity of the previous millennium with the songbook of Carole King.
It's a rather odd choice at this point in the competition, as much fun as it would be to see James Durbin attempt to pull off a heavy-metal take on "It's Too Late." It's not just that King's songs will be an uneasy fit for many of the singers, but that her songbook doesn't contain near the number of recognizable tunes that even Elton John's does (and just you forget about Lennon/McCartney). Considering the top six will also be singing duets of King's work (hey, producers have got to find some way of filling up 90 minutes of air time), it's going to be a challenge for them to find recognizable solo performances that connect with home viewers. Perhaps more so than at any point this season, the arrangements of Jimmy Iovine's producers are going to be of the utmost importance.
Here's what we'll be looking for from the kids headed into Wednesday's show:
Casey Abrams
What to make of Casey? He's defied the odds for weeks, avoiding the bottom three after being saved by the judges last month. With his quirky performances and his goofy personality, the 20-year-old seems to have solidified a dedicated fanbase who will vote for him on good nights (Elton's "Your Song") and bad (Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe"). King's oeuvre is certainly a better fit for Casey than other "Idol" hopefuls, and we can see him succeeding — along with his bass — with "Wasn't Born to Follow" (made famous by the Byrds in "Easy Rider").
Haley Reinhart
We'd say Haley can choose no other song than "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," but Lauren Alaina already beat her to it (on rock and roll night, strangely enough). It's too bad, since the tune would have provided the perfect, soulful platform on which she can build on last week's rousing rendition of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Whatever song she picks, here's the problem: Haley just doesn't have the fanbase to survive much longer. She killed it last week and still ended up in the bottom three. Her comeback, it seems, will be remembered as too little too late. We just hope she shows off enough bluesy sass to make record execs take notice. Don't let this girl disappear!
Jacob Lusk
America should have its fingers and toes crossed that Jacob ignores Randy Jackson's advice from last week to ditch his recent, restrained performances and let loose like a wild man. An unbound Jacob is a Jacob we simply don't dig. A tune like "It's Too Late" could hit his emotional sweet spot. No matter the song choice, Wednesday's performance could be a make-or-break one for the guy. He's been a regular member of the bottom-three crew, and he'll have to come out strong if he wants to pick up some of Stefano Langone's voters.
James Durbin
While it's putting it mildly to say James didn't bust out his finest vocals of the season last week during his Muse cover, we gave the thumbs-up to the performance because it was metal enough to satisfy James' instincts yet still allowed him room to stretch his vocal cords (even if it didn't sound so great when he did). King's songbook presents James with the biggest challenge of any of the remaining six. He might take a bite out of a King-penned Monkees' tune, but a savvier choice would be the Animals' "Don't Bring Me Down" and its darkly infectious choral refrain.
Lauren Alaina
Was last week a wakeup call for Lauren? Will she be able to shake off the nerves that have plagued her for too long and return to the freewheeling performance style she displayed early on this season? If that happens, and she continues to present country-rock music, Lauren is practically assured of ending up in the final three. "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," lyrically, just feels like a country song — all it needs is a little twangy update from Lauren.
Scotty McCreery
As we predicted last week, Scotty's likely in for a back-from-the-brink performance, not because he bombed last week, but because the judges decided to slam him for no apparent reason other than that resurrection narratives make good TV. Truth is, the 17-year-old remains the "Idol" front-runner. Heck, he could sing "Old Smokey Locomotion" and the voters would come on in droves for him. But that'd just be absurd. If he wants to switch things up a bit and bring a rock vibe to his country-strong performance, "Hi-De-Ho" by Blood, Sweat & Tears would be a fine choice.

Nina Dobrev on the cover of Seventeen Fitness
Nina graces the mag (out May 3) in a printed blue bikini and pink cut-off top that shows off her PERFECTLY toned abs. In other words, while we were eating pizza, having cupcakes and basically being all-around lazy, Nina was at the gym shaping up. So. Not. Cool.
"When I work out, I feel happy, confident, and accomplished," Nina told the mag for their first ever fitness special (inadvertently reminding us that the gym CAN be fun).
Nina, who we're assuming also gets a pretty serious workout on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" kicking butt as Katherine AND Elena, also revealed that for her, exercise isn't about losing tons of weight.
"I've realized skinny isn't necessarily attractive. Guys like girls with curves." That we totally agree with.
Now, if you're still not motivated enough to pay your old friends treadmill, weights and cardio a visit, the cover of the magazine promises that there are ways to get a bod like Nina's without working out. We're not sure what those ways are, but we're definitely curious. (Especially if it involves hot vampires.)

Nicole Kidman Used to Hate Being Tall
Nicole Kidman has revealed that she "hated being so tall" when she was a girl.
The 43-year-old Australian actress, who is married to singer Keith Urban, said that she felt insecure about having "weird" red hair and being skinny when she was younger.
Kidman told The Sun: "I wish I had known I would become more confident about my looks. I used to confide in my mom Janelle, who was tall too - 5ft 10in. She used to tell me that men liked tall women. I would say: 'I am not interested in men - I am interested in boys.'
"I didn't know whether I could become an actress because I was so tall and gangly. I wish I could have known, at the time, that it was character building."
Kidman, who has described her teenage years as "boring", said that her mom still urges her to "put on weight" because she is "too skinny".
She added: "I eat food all the time. They send me fruit on film sets but I prefer croissants. That has always been my thing. I am told that Guinness is very good for you - and good for the curves!"
Kidman recently revealed that she has a "beautiful" relationship with Urban, while he has said that they live a very "normal" life together.

Papoose Ready For 'Round Two' With 2nd Coming Mixtape
'I got a lot more to offer the game than what I had back then,' he tells Mixtape Daily.
By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Ade Mangum
Mixtape Daily Main Pick
Artist: Papoose
Representing: Brooklyn, NY
Mixtape: The 2nd Coming
Real Spit: For those wondering what Papoose has been up to, here is your answer. Mixtape Daily caught up with the Brooklyn wordsmith recently at Gleason's Gym. While the BK institution is where boxers go to train and sharpen their knuckle game, Pap is back with a new mixtape (#24, by his count) that he insists will let heads know his verbal jabs are still sharp.
"The reason why I called the mixtape The 2nd Coming is because when I first came in the scene, I shook the ground, I had the whole industry petrified, I took a million-plus," Pap told Mixtape Daily, referring to the reportedly million-dollar recording deal he signed with Jive Records back in 2006. "This time I'm coming back, it's going to be even worse. Y'all know what I did before. See what I did; now, round two."
Despite the blockbuster record deal, the Most Lyrical One has yet to release his debut album, The Nacirema Dream. According to the rapper — who is married to incarcerated MC Remy Ma — he was able to walk away from Jive in 2007 with his money and his masters, so after some career ups and downs, his album really is on the way. Until then, The 2nd Coming is hosted by his longtime supporter DJ Kay Slay and features appearances from Busta Rhymes, Sheek Louch, Gudda Gudda, Karina Bradley, Raekwon and Tony Yayo as well as his Thugacation crew.
"I feel like l'm more mature now and I got a lot more to offer the game than what I had back then," Pap said. "So I'm glad my album didn't come. Now with my album coming out, I think I'm well-prepared. This mixtape will really show a first-time listener what hip-hop represents."
Joints to Check For
» "6 Foot 7 Freestyle." "It's just me in rare form, going in, doing what I'm doing," Papoose explained. "The beat is inspirational. It's just one of them beats that make you say, 'Damn, I want to rap on that beat.' I think it's an inspirational track, so I had to hop on it and show 'em what I'm bringing to the table."
» "I Don't Eat No Ham." "You know, Jay-Z and Kanye had the record 'I'm about to go H.A.M.,' but you know me, I got knowledge of self, I don't eat no ham. So that title is 'No Ham,' I'm going in."
» "Last Man Standing." "The Gudda Gudda collab happened through a mutual friend," Papoose explained. "Basically he reached out to me and told me Gudda respect what I'm doing, I let him know vice versa, I respect his music. Me and Gudda got on the phone, chopped it up, and we came out with the joint. Shout out to the whole Young Money on that. We just basically expressing what it feels like to be the last man standing. The cats who came up with me they not here no more or either they crossed over and doing something totally wack. I feel like I'm the last man standing that represent that real hardcore lyrical hip-hop."

E. Dan Talks Building Wiz Khalifa's Sound 'From Scratch'
Rolling Papers producer tells Mixtape Daily they found 'natural rhythm.'

Mixtape Daily: Behind the Beats
Fans might not know Pittsburgh producer Eric Dan (E. Dan for short), but they sure as heck know his work. After crafting six out of 14 tracks on Wiz Khalifa's debut album, Rolling Papers, it shouldn't be long before hip-hop heads start catching on.
In 2003, Dan opened his own studio, ID Labs, outside of Pittsburgh. When a young Wiz Khalifa strolled in looking to record, the producer took the Taylor Gang general under his wing and has been working him every step of the way. "It's been a great thing for [ID Labs] to be involved with an artist almost from his inception to where he is now," E. Dan said.
Where Wiz is now is at the top of the charts. It was the rapper's #1 single "Black and Yellow" that spearheaded the Khalifa craze, helping Rolling Papers sell just under 300,000 copies since its March 29 release, but it was songs like the E. Dan-produced "The Race" and "When I'm Gone" that provided the LP with its substance.
"With this album, we wanted to go in together from scratch," said Dan, who splits production duties with his partner, Big Jerm. According to Dan, the bulk of the tracks on Rolling Papers came together organically, thanks to the comfortable relationship Dan and Wiz had been building for years. "Working with somebody from that young and working with him for so long, you fall into a natural rhythm, and over time you end up building this sound together," Dan said.
The recording session for Wiz's "The Race" sticks out in E. Dan's mind as an example of their overall organic chemistry. "Wiz fell asleep," the producer recalled. "We put [the beat] together; a couple of hours later, Wiz woke up and said, 'Whoa — that's it!' Next thing we knew, he jumped in the booth and did the song."
From there followed "Star of the Show," "Get Your Sh--," "Fly Solo," "Cameras" and the intro, "When I'm Gone." Dan has already worked with Pittsburgh breakouts Mac Miller and Chevy Woods, but said he is excited about branching out and adding to his resume. With upcoming production for international rap star K'Naan, it shouldn't be long before the Pittsburgh producer is a worldwide name.

Morgan Spurlock Dubs "Mac and Me" the Worst Movie Ever Sold
Morgan Spurlock just can't leave McDonald's alone.
During an interview for his latest documentary, "Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold," director Morgan Spurlock singled out his former foe, McDonald's, for having spawned the worst-ever example of product placement.
In his 2004 documentary, "Super Size Me," Spurlock filmed himself eating nothing but items from the McDonald's menu for a month. And the results were not pretty: He gained 25 pounds and was well on the road to liver failure. The fast food chain scrambled to rebrand itself.
For his most recent movie, which opens this weekend, Spurlock sets out to expose the rampant practices of product placement and cross-promotional marketing.
Remember E.T. chowing down on Reese's Pieces? That brand saw a meteoric rise in sales following the release of Spielberg's classic. Now just about every blockbuster has a slew of corporate sponsors who, in exchange for promotion, have their brands subtly -- and not so subtly -- worked into the flick.
"If you're going to make a movie that you want to reach a mass audience or to be a blockbuster," said Spurlock, "then you need to tie into these corporate partners that will help promote it."
So, I had to ask him: What was the most ridiculous, most egregious example of product placement he's ever come across? He didn't have to think long. "Mac and Me," he declared.
"It's the worst, worst, worst, worst, worst thing you'll ever see in your entire life ... and it was completely paid for by my good friends at McDonald's."
The movie, which came out in 1988, is infamous among connoisseurs of cinematic schlock, who rank it alongside the likes of "Troll 2" as one of the worst movies ever made. The film is about a freakish-looking alien named MAC (an acronym for "Mysterious Alien Creature") who ventures to earth, befriends a wheelchair-bound lad and discovers a boundless love for McDonald's.
The high point (or low point) of the movie is a staggeringly cheesy five-minute dance sequence in the middle of a McDonald's, featuring an appearance by none other than Ronald McDonald. "It's ridiculous. One of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in my life," said Spurlock.
"I wish I had been in that meeting, because you know what happened," said Spurlock. "You know they were sitting around a conference room somewhere, and somebody had the brilliant idea and said, 'You know what the kids like? The kids love that E.T. So you know what we should do? We should have an alien come to Earth. But instead of Reese's Pieces, he loves McDonald's."
For "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold," Spurlock decided to make his documentary on product placement by having it funded entirely by product placement.
In the film, Spurlock manages to get his movie poster on Hyatt hotel room keys, tags on bottles of Pom Wonderful pomegranate juice, and on collectors' cups from "Sheetz" convenience stores. In exchange, he features these products prominently in his doc. At one point, there's a stick of Ban deodorant placed in front of Quentin Tarantino as he is being interviewed. In another scene, Spurlock shills the qualities of Merrell shoes to consumer advocate Ralph Nader.
The sponsors that put up the most money even got a commercial right in the middle of the movie, while the largest sponsor, POM Wonderful, even got naming rights to the film.
Yet there were numerous brands that were flatly uninterested in partnering up with Spurlock, fearing his reputation based on his earlier work.
"I wanted BP to be the official gas station of 'The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.' So we called them. I said, 'Listen, this would be great for you guys. You could use a real kind of boost of positive press right now.' And they said, 'No, we don't want anything to do with this.'"
Spurlock might have been shamelessly, gleefully flogging the brands of his corporate partners, but there was one area he was not willing to sell out on: He insisted on retaining the final cut of the movie.
"When you lose that control, you're not telling an honest story. You're telling a story that someone else is paying you to tell versus following your own artistic vision. The fact that we were able to retain that control made the world of difference."
Whether or not "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" has the same box-office impact as "Super Size Me," the process of making the movie has opened up some unexpected doors.
"Word is going to start getting out about the film within the advertising/marketing community that I was brand-friendly," he said with a wry smile. As a result, he's been asked to work with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett in a movie about male grooming.
No word what the movie's title will be or, more intriguingly, what its corporate partners might be.

The Star Market: Has Reese Witherspoon Stopped Taking Chances?
Peers: Jennifer Aniston (42), Cameron Diaz (38), Angelina Jolie (35), Kate Winslet (35), Elizabeth Banks (37), and Kate Beckinsale (37)
Market Value: A decade ago, Witherspoon's box office might have seemed like a sure thing: Both Legally Blonde movies made almost $100 million, while Sweet Home Alabamastunned Hollywood with its $127 million gross (not only is it Witherspoon's biggest live-action movie, but it still holds the all-time weekend record for a September opening). Since then, though, she's not quite infallible. Though Walk the Line was a hit, other ventures into drama — Vanity Fair and Rendition — were negligible. (The latter couldn't even crack $10 million.) And Four Christmases was a blockbuster for both her and Vince Vaughn, but her other comedies, Just Like Heaven and How Do You Know, were notable disappointments. Still, Witherspoon's got enough heft to command a sizable paycheck of around $15 million for a major studio picture.
What Hollywood Thinks: "I love her, but if she's one of those people who has her price — 'It's this number, or nothing!' — then that's a problem," said a top manager we spoke to. "You can push them — we do it with clients on a daily basis — and say, 'You have to make choices that are creatively inspiring.' And often, they don't come in the form of the payday or the 4,000-screen release."
Another talent agent agreed: "She's so adorable, but she's hidden herself away in these movies," he said. "How Do You Know felt very ... safe. Election was really the tip of the iceberg of what she can do. I've yet to see her do anything that taxes her since then. I mean, the intelligence behind Election, right down to the way she inhabited her body, the way the molecules rearranged, she was unattractive in every way; it was beautiful how ugly and unlikable she was. And to do Freeway and to take everything we like about her and to pervert it was just great."
So why won't she make those sorts of movies anymore? "With Reese, I think her material buckles under the weight of her price," said the agent. "People aren't eager to pay you $20 million to star in the next smart little indie black comedy. As such, I don't think she's looking to reinvent her wheelhouse; she knows exactly what she's doing. She may have her best work ahead of her, but I don't know if she ever will because her life is so normal and comfortable."
The Analysis: Witherspoon named her production company "Type A" after her personality, and in the early years of her career, she had a reputation for hard-charging ambition. So why does she seem so relaxed right now? It could be motherhood, or her new husband — or, hell, maybe she's earned the right to rest on her laurels. But frankly, we miss the old Witherspoon's guts. A few years ago, she was going to reteam with her Electiondirector Alexander Payne for a promising new comedy called Downsizing, and though it didn't come to pass, she hasn't done anything else to really excite audiences — or critics — in quite some time.
"She should be doing what Elizabeth Banks is doing," recommended the talent agent. "Brilliant guest turn on 30 Rock. Fantastic on Modern Family. But then: a leading role opposite Russell Crowe [in The Next Three Days], opposite Paul Rudd [in My Idiot Brother], and, like, three Sundance movies. Then, getting lead in that new Alex Kurtzman movie [Welcome to People] — and she just had a kid!"
The Bottom Line: Maybe Witherspoon's love-triangle phase reflects her own career indecision: She could go for the weird pick, but she tends to choose the predictable one every time. In our opinion, it's time for Witherspoon to fight for something instead of getting fought over.
Buy/Sell/Hold: Though her career is still successful, to use our stock-market analogy, the investment isn't rising. Sell.

Meh she`s not my favorite actress (i honestly dont think she`s that special) but a lot of guys do the same thing in this industry and i don`t see them getting attacked. With that said i have been disappointed in her post-oscar film choices though.

Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye: City of Lights Livin'
After spending the previous day partaking in a Harper's Bazaar photoshoot, Beyonce Knowles was looking cheerful as she exited the Costes restaurant in Paris, France on Saturday (April 23).
The "Run the World (Girls)" singer was decked out in an all-black ensemble with shiny, strappy heels as she chowed down while husband Jay-Z was busy meeting with fellow hip-hop star Kanye West in the City of Lights.
Early reports tell that Kanye has made the trip to Paris to collaborate with Beyonce on a possible track for her upcoming album, though nothing has been officially confirmed at this time.
Meanwhile, Beyonce and Jay certainly aren't roughing it during the European getaway - as the pair are holed up in a $20,000/night penthouse suite at Hotel Le Meurice - with the "luxury pad overlooking the Tuileries Garden, coming complete with a private kitchen, a glass enclosed dining room and an enormous private open air terrace."

'Women should shut up and look sexy' according to top-grossing films
A new study looking at 100 top-grossing movies from 2008 finds that women speak less and show more skin than men. Specifically, men had 67 percent of the speaking roles, while 26 percent of women compared to five percent of men wore sexy clothing (with the same ratio for appearing partially naked).
A vast majority of you said movie heroines can be sexy and strong, but it's one thing to be a well-rounded character who can kick ass and look good doing it, and it's another thing to be silent eye candy. Hailing from USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, the researchers also point out that women buy around half of the movie tickets sold in the US, so why do they represent such a small number of the speaking roles?
Even more disturbing is the analysis of teen girl sexualization in films. Young female characters, age 13 to 20, wore sexy clothing 40 percent of the time compared to 32 percent of women age 21 to 39 and appeared partially naked the same amount as older women. The younger women were also called attractive more than the 21 and up group.
The researchers say sexing up teen characters in movies is sending a negative message to young girls about their self-worth. But I'd go a step further and say what really concerns me about these numbers is that the movie industry is using female teen characters as sexual objects, contributing to the problem of young girls being the victims of sexual violence. If mainstream movies are constantly glamorizing sexy teen girls, it could be only a matter of time before these male fantasies are acted upon.
Do you think the movie industry's tendency to silence and sexualize women is having an effect on society's view of women and teen girls? Or is it just entertainment that shouldn't be taken so seriously?
By the numbers:
- Only 32.8 percent of the speaking parts were given to women.
- 13-to-20-year-old girls continue to be "hypersexualized in film," according to the study. A substantially higher percentage of young women are shown wearing revealing attire then are men. Young female characters, age 13 to 20, wore sexy clothing 40 percent of the time compared to 32 percent of women age 21 to 39 and appeared partially naked the same amount as older women. The younger women were also called attractive more than the 21 and up group
- 39.8 percent of females wore revealing attire in movies, compared to 6.7 percent of males. And females are shown partially naked 30.1 percent of the time, compared to 10.3 percent for males.
- only 8 percent of directors, 13.6 percent of writers and 19.1 percent of producers were female.
- when one or more female screenwriters are involved in penning a script, the percentage of female characters jumps by 14.3 percent.
