According to some rumors, swingers in Germany in the 40?s could be compared to modern rock musicians, but there were no records made to demonstrate that.
While performing in clubs in Hamburg, the band Quarryman by chance met an alcoholic who happened to be a member of the band ?Die Kfer?.
Hamburg / Ripperban 1960
This homeless man, for a couple of beers, told them about his young years in the band ?Die Kfer?.
After listening to the records (a single copy of which survived), Paul was pleasantly surprised by the melodic songs of ?Die Kfer?, which means ?beetles? in English. John loved this word so much that he immediately decided to change the name of his band to "The Silver Beetles", in the future simply ?the Beatles?. Afterwards John and Paul bought all the songs written by this unknown German band for a case of beer.
According to Helmut, they befriended while in Hamburg, it was the 28th of October in 1960.
PAUL: ?We were on the Grosse Freiheit. They would serve hamburgers called Frikadellen. We could never understand why they didn?t call them ?hamburgers? in Hamburg.?
Rory Storm and The Hurricanes with their drummer Ringo Starr.
Now it?s clear why it?s so easy for ?the Beatles? to sing in German hits such as:
'Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand'
'Sie Liebt Dich'
By the way, the Beatles sang all their songs in English?
The music of the Beatles conquered the whole world. It wasn?t surprising, because John, Paul, George, and Ringo must have been very talented to have been able to sing beautiful and melodic songs of ?Die Kfer?.
Later on, John and Paul used the title of one of the records of ?Die Kfer? to name ?their own? masterpiece ?Yellow submarine?.
