We?re a tiny bit confused today because the Sun newspaper seem to be under the impression that Dermot O?Leary let slip to them that the X Factor results show on Sunday was a big fat fix.
Or at least that?s what they think he admitted, by default. They claim that a ?plot? was hatched in order to keep Katie in the show which relied on Cheryl not being able to have the last say on who got the boot (as Waissel apparently had the least amount of public votes, therefore if it went to deadlock on Cheryl?s vote she would have been sent home).
The Sun say that Dermot explained this little non-existent plot to them as:
?We talked about it in the break because you find out two or three minutes before what's going to happen.?
?We thought it might happen (Cheryl Cole refusing to vote) before the break when we found out who was in the bottom two. My producer said, 'Look, if Cheryl decides to opt out we go to majority vote'. Cheryl did decide to opt out - and then she said, 'Come back to me and we'll do deadlock'."
Right ? does that actually constitute a plot? Nope, certainly not and that?s exactly what Dermot has been telling people today via Twitter:
?Just thought I'd clear up the Sun story. Bless them? he said. ?Wrong end of the stick, as always. No 'plot' as quoted... We never know which way the judges are going to vote. Ever, the only thing I know is who's in the bottom 2 when I'm given the card. I don't know which judge to go to until I'm called, and the judges, including Simon, don?t know the vote or who we're coming to next. Its that simple.?
Right, good, glad we all cleared that one up then?
